I visited the Pinnacles National Monument twice in January 2009 and again on December 31, 2009, always with the goal of seeing, and hopefully, photographing a California Condor. While I enjoyed the strenuous hike over the peaks and the spectacular views, I was repeatedly disappointed that I didn't get a single glimpse of a Condor. The fourth time in January 2010, however, was the charm.
